Frequently Asked Questions

Timber Fencing Geelong

How much does timber fencing cost in Geelong?

The cost of timber fencing in Geelong varies depending on the style, timber type, height, and length of the fence. Typically, you can expect to pay between $75 and $150 per metre. At Doug's Fencing, we offer detailed and transparent quotes tailored to your budget and project needs.

What type of timber is best for fencing in Geelong?

Most homes prefer treated pine as an affordable and popular option, while hardwood timber such as spotted gum, jarrah, or ironbark provides superior durability and a stylish finish. Our team at Doug's Fencing assists you in selecting the right timber to suit Geelong's climate and your property's style.

How long will a timber fence last?

With proper care, a timber fence in Geelong can last 15–25 years. Hardwood fences generally last longer than treated pine, and regular maintenance such as staining or sealing will extend the lifespan of your fence.

Do you provide timber fence repairs as well as new installations?

Yes. At Doug's Fencing, we not only construct new timber fences in Geelong but also offer repairs and replacements. Whether it's damaged palings, leaning posts, or weather-related issues, our experienced fencing contractors can restore your fence to full strength.

Can timber fences be customised for design and height?

Absolutely. Timber fencing is very adaptable, and we can craft standard paling fences, decorative picket fences, hardwood feature fences, or horizontal slat designs. Heights can be customised to suit privacy, security, or council regulations in Geelong.

Do you service all areas around Geelong?

Yes, we offer timber fencing services throughout Geelong and nearby areas, including the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast, Lara, Armstrong Creek, Bannockburn, Ocean Grove, and Torquay.
